Why The Philip Center.
A Problem to Solve
Ask almost any pastor or church leader how evangelism is going and they will say “Not so well.” Evangelism is about as popular as tithing. Not many Christians actively share their faith. And not many churches feel they are doing what they should to reach out.
Statistics support these observations. A Barna survey discovered that people living in Providence, RI are least likely to share their faith as anywhere in the country. Coupled with the fact that New England has the fewest active Christians of any region in the country, the chances of getting the gospel out are slim.
But the mandate is clear : “Go into all the world and make disciples.” And the strategy includes not only the “ends of the earth” but also “Jerusalem.”
That is why The Philip Center exists — to help the evangelical church in New England fulfill the command to make disciples.
With twenty-five years of evangelistic and church leadership experience, the staff of The Philip Center is ready to help your church reach out with the gospel — and to keep doing it.
We have seen over the years, in our own experience and in others, that excitement for evangelism oftern comes in burts that quickly fizzle out. So the The Philip Center offers a long-term relationship with your church so that you keep evangelism on the front burner. We want you to experience evangelism that is realistic and sustainable.
We also offer our service free of charge. We do the work of raising our own support so that you don’t have to pay us.
And at the end of the day, The Philip Center exists because we feel called to the work of evangelism and called to the success of the local church. It’s our calling, our passion and our joy. We’ve been doing it for years and it’s what we like to do the most.
