Reporting Back to Dallas!

Sharing at Home Group Portrait 1 small

“For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Romans 1:11-12

“Are you homesick?” That is the number one question we were asked when we went back to Dallas for a visit with our home church along with some family and friends. “We are family-sick and friend-sick” was often our response. We LOVE our life and work in Providence but we do dearly miss those who are so dear to our hearts in the great state of Texas!

Sharing at Church smallGoing back to Dallas was such a joy and an encouragement. We had a warm and life-giving visit to our home church, The Village Church, for an update on how our ministries are going in Providence. We were able to share with the congregation at their October Elder Led Prayer meeting. We are so grateful to have been able to report back all the wonderful things that God is doing through Paradigm Biblical Counseling and also through the Summer OFF program. And we were encouraged as they laid hands on us once again to praise God and to ask for continued favor in the work we are doing in Providence.

We also had the blessing of being able to connect with dear friends and family who have supported us along the way. Many of our supporters and friends came out for a more in depth report of our ministries at our friend Lauren’s home in Dallas. It was such a beautiful reminder of Romans 1:11-12 that we are to strengthen one another’s faith by sharing how the Lord is moving in our lives. We are so grateful for the time we had!

Other friends.JPGFinally, as with any trip home, there were lots of meetings with friends to catch up, to laugh together and to marvel over how everyone’s children have grown. And we were blessed with a wonderful visit with some of our Texas family and lots of memories made. We continue to praise God for His provision to be able to make a trip back to Dallas and we are so grateful for the encouragement it was to us all.
