The leaves are falling in New England and the nights are just starting to get frosty. Which means it's time to start thinking about next summer! What are you going to do?

You might be a college student, seminary student, or a recent high school or college grad. Maybe you are interested in going into full-time ministry, and you would like to learn more about yourself and about what one kind of ministry is like.

We would love for you to consider interning with Summer OFF this coming summer, and it's not too early to start talking with us about it.

As an intern, you would work in with kids in at least one park in Providence each day, running games and crafts, painting faces, sharing the gospel, reading stories.

You'd work with other interns, local and out-of-town church teams, and Miranda Laughlin and other Philip Center staff.

You'd get a taste of the larger vision of gospel growth in Rhode Island, through discussions with Philip Center staff, meetings with inner-city pastors and church planters, and serving at the Providence Rescue Mission.

Together with the other interns, you'd also spend time studying the Bible and seeking to see the gospel touch your own heart in fresh ways. A major part of our philosophy at the Philip Center is "gospel for me, gospel for you"—we need the same message of good news that we are sharing with the kids. We never graduate from the gospel.

Jermaca and MeaganAnd there will be time for fun besides the work! Rhode Island is full of great food and beautiful beaches, and close to Boston and other attractions. You'd get to do some special trips with other interns, and have the freedom to do more exploring on your own as well.

One reason to start thinking about it now is that, like most missions trips, you would be raising support for this internship. It is good to have time for that process.

The total cost is dependent on the housing arrangements, which are still being finalized.

If you're interested, or if you know someone else who might be, don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to talk with you.
